Blackheads Don’t Go Away

May 4th, 2008 by dulciarains

By Cyndi Katel People are unclear (including me) how to fight against blackheads and whiteheads. Every product claims they eliminate blackheads and whiteheads. The truth is blackheads and whiteheads are hard to accept they are hard to get rid of. It is hard to win the battle against our clogged pores. Normal working pores produce a normal amount of oil (sebum) that is easily distributed through the pore to the surface of the skin forming a protective barrier. When a regular amount of oil is produced, it effortlessly moves through the pore and out onto the surface of skin, where it melts into a film that forms a protective barrier over the face. Teens really should only use a water-based moisture lotion labeled ‘non-comedogenic’ which means it does not clog pores, says Dr. Barry Leshin, M.D., associate professor of dermatology at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Heavier oil-based moisturizers can cause an acne-like skin condition directly attributed to the use of cosmetics; (www.fda.gov).When dead skin cells block the path of the oil, you can get blackheads or whiteheads. Cosmetics, creams and lotions can build up in the pore, along with dead skin cells that can get trapped in the sticky oil. When oil and skin cells are sitting in a pore that is open and exposed to the air, the cells turn black. When the oil and skin cells are sitting in a pore that is covered by skin, they are not exposed to air and therefore stay clear, but form a slight white bump under the skin. AHA exfoliants can both remove the excess dead skin cells on the face and exfoliate inside the pore (to improve the shape of the pore, allowing a more even flow of oil through it). Keep in mind that the pore itself is lined with skin cells that can build up, creating a narrowed shape that does not allow for natural oil flow. But don’t get carried away with this step. Overdoing it (removing too many skin cells)can cause problems and hurt skin. Exfoliation is essential for both dry and oily skin to eliminate blackheads or whiteheads Cyndi Katel lives in Tempe, Arizona with her two daughters. She majored in pre-med. Sealing and Varnishing Watercolor Paintings Done on Canvas

May 1st, 2008 by dulciarains

By Chris Dinesen Rogers Sealing and Varnishing Your Work You have two choices when you paint in watercolors on an alternate support such as clayboard or watercolor canvas: you can frame behind glass as with a traditional watercolor, taking the same precautions that the painting itself does not come into direct contact with the glass and that there is a space between the artwork and the glass or you can seal your work and frame as an oil or acrylic painting. Because paint lifts so easily off of these surfaces, for my part, I feel safest sealing and varnishing. The later definitely has some advantage. If you paint on large surfaces, a matted painting framed behind glass can be an expensive purchase and a heavy one for hanging. Some artists have remarked that paintings on the larger sized watercolor canvas sealed and varnished sell better because of they are easier to frame and the frames, lighter without the glass. There is a school of thought that also recognizes the fact that oils sell at higher prices than watercolors. Perhaps its the long tradition of oil painting that adds a certain mystique to the works. Or perhaps it is the advantage of being able to frame without glass. Victorian watercolorists took great pains using bodycolor and gum arabic to “heighten” a painting to make it look like an oil in order to get higher prices for their work. For me, I looked at framing without glass as a means to transport works easier for shows, to say nothing of it being safer. I experimented with several different approaches to come up with a sealing method that I use now. Now I must say that I like a glossy finish, so the products I mention are all about accomplishing this goal. For clayboard and canvas paintings, I first begin with the clayboard fixative. I use about three coats, allowing ample time to dry between coats. After this, I use the Krylon Triple-Thick Clear Glaze. The “triple-thick” refers to the fact that one coat of this product equals three coats of other clear acrylic fixatives. I will apply at least two coats until I achieve the finish Im after. I follow this with a UV resistant varnish, also by Krylon. I typically will spray six thin coats to complete the process. There are a couple of things to bear in mind when doing this: first of all, make sure you have a big space that is covered to do the actual spraying. Make sure nothing is near by that may get a bit of the spray. You will want to take off your glasses, if you wear them. Found that out the hard way. Make sure the room is well-ventilated. There will be lots of spraying going on, so be sure and take that precaution. Another approach is recommended by Golden for varnishing acrylics. This method requires an isolation layer so that this layer would protect the acrylic should the varnish need to be removed. The isolation layer is the Golden soft gel gloss, mixed two parts gel to one part water and brushed on. I applied this layer onto watercolor canvas. Despite being the glossy finish, it wasnt as glossy as I liked, but maybe if youre looking for more of a matte finish, you may appreciate the look. I didnt like applying this with a brush either. The mix is quite watery and brushes easily, but I preferred spraying. This layer is followed up by the MSA Archival Varnish. For prints, this is up to eight thin layers. I do at least six layers for paintings and prints. Its an easy precaution to take to protect your work. Since Ive used the MSA Archival Varnish for prints, I have now taken to use it instead of the Krylon varnish. I have tried both of these approaches with watercolor works on paper. I mounted the work on matboard before beginning. I cant say I was happy at all with the results and will just still to using this for alternate supports. The nice thing about varnishing your works is that you get a really nice looking product when youre done. I find the gloss finish really adds a lot and the painting looks like the watercolor when the paints were first applied, juicy and wet. Hot Bed - A Simple Greenhouse

April 28th, 2008 by dulciarains

By Paul Wonning A hot bed is simply a cold frame which has bottom heat incorporated into it. The old fashioned way is to use manure for the heat source. The recipe for this is about one third organic matter, such as straw or dried leaves to about two thirds fresh manure. This can be horse, sheep, cow, rabbit or fowl. It is best to dig a pit to put this mixture into. Do not use cat or dog manure as these can contain parasites. Mix this thoroughly, water good and leave to sit for a few days. Turn it, to mix in more air. By now, decomposition should be occurring and it should be putting off heat. Lay the cold frame over the manure pit. Then put about an inch of soil on top of the manure mix. You now have an old fashioned hot bed, or you should. You can plant seedlings into the soil, or in bedding packs filled with potting soil. After germination, the seedlings can be transplanted and moved into a cold frame to grow further before setting out into the garden. A more reliable heat source for the hot bed is specially made heating cables. These can be found in garden centers and greenhouse supply houses. They generally run off standard 110 volts, have a thermostat which is preset at seventy degrees. Dig a shallow pit about three inches deep. Lay the cables in the pit in a pattern which allows even heat over the entire hot bed. You can uses landscape staples to fasten it down, or cut clothes hangers and bend into a staple shape. Do not allow the wires of the heat cable to cross, and make sure the outlet you use to plug it in has a ground fault circuit breaker installed in it. Cover this with about one inch of dirt, and then cover this with some fiberglass window screen. This is to prevent you from cutting the electric cable if you start digging in the hot bed with a trowel. Then cover the screen with about two inches of topsoil or potting soil. Again, you may plant directly in this, or in bedding packs. The hot bed can be turned into a propagation chamber to root cuttings in midsummer. A hot bed can be constructed the old fashioned way with fresh manure and organic matter, or with electric heating cables. Either way, it is an ideal structure to use to start seedlings in the spring and root cuttings in midsummer. 2006 Paul Wonning is the owner of Gardens and Nature.com a web site about gardening, hiking and other nature related topics. Could it be that we need to re-connect with what is real? The Being of whose very image we are? This may very well be the case. Now, coming from a Christian background and adhering to most of its principles in my honest opinion, an answer when asking for a depression cure will be a re-connection with God, by perhaps the most powerful yet easy: Prayer. A dogmatic approach involving the use of Thees and Thous is unnecessary.A simple yet natural conversation with your maker is all that may very well be needed to deal with your situation. Hebrews 13 verse 5: Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. 5. Psalm 23 verse 4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 6. 1 Corinthians 10:13: “No temptation (problem) has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted (tested) beyond what you are able, but with the temptation (problem) will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” Make efforts to fill your mind with these life-giving quotes as you await the answer from God OR are shown the answers which may very well be inside of you waiting to be tapped. Bass - Fishing Topwater Baits

April 24th, 2008 by dulciarains

By Jack Phillips Bass fishing with topwater baits is without a doubt the most fun you can have fishing for large or smallmouth bass. People watch these bass tournaments on the tube and see all these pros using plastic and spinner baits jigs and crankbaits, forget about the fun and excitement you get with topwater baits. Topwater baits create great action and stories to pass on to family and fishing friends. Bass fishing with topwater baits is without a doubt the most fun you can have fishing for large or smallmouth bass. People watch these bass tournaments on the tube and see all these pros using plastic and spinner baits jigs and crankbaits, forget about the fun and excitement you get with topwater baits. Topwater baits create great action and stories to pass on to family and fishing friends. The best time I find for topwater bass fishing is in summer, the colder the water the slower the response, and the more you have to work that bait. Early morning and evening are best for topwater bass fishing. Of course weather effects your choice of lures also, on a bright sunny day it is better to have a light wind to go with it, a bit of a chop makes the bass less spooky. On a calm sunny day use a heavier lure and lighter line for longer casts. Bass tend to become real spooky in calm and clear water, so the further the cast from you the better off you’ll be. Wind can also change the type of topwater bait you can use I believe that when the wind comes up you should use a smaller bait that makes a lot of noise. The larger baits just plow through the chop, while the smaller baits ride the chop and still make that enticing noise to get the strike you want. Also try to fish through the troughs created by the wind. Bass fishing topwater baits has some of it’s own quirks you want to be able to make pinpoint casts to cover areas and make a clear retrieve. Most of your topwater bass fishing will be done in shallow water over weed beds, flats and around objects and shoreline cover. The majority of bass population remains in shallow water all summer. To fish bass with topwater baits cast about a foot or two past your target and bring it as close to the cover as possible. If you do not get a strike after the first few feet reel in and try again and make another cast. Fishing cover like this there is no need to reel the bait all the way to the boat. Work the bait slowly to get that strike from the bass that is hiding in the shadows and under cover. Have patience when fishing topwater baits, let the ripples disapear, and let the bait sit a few seconds before you make you retrieve. When the bass strikes a topwater bait, wait till you feel the fish before you set the hook. If you try to set that hook when you first see the strike you’ll miss more than you will catch. I can’t count the times that lure has been nocked back towards me by the bass striking that topwater bait. Now for some of the most popular baits, Poppers are among the oldest of topwater bass fishing lures. They have the dished out face with the line tie in the middle. When retrieved they make a slash noise or “bloop” when popped. Poppers work best in warm, calm, shallow, clear water. You get your action from the rod tip not reeling. The harder you snap the bait the more noise and commotion created. Stickbaits are rounded, hot-dog shaped lures usually plastic or wood. weighted to float nose up. The only action they have is what the angler ads to make them work. These baits have appeal for big bass, just using the jerk, then real up slack and jerking again produces a good eratic side to side motion that gets lots of attention from bass. Propbaits are cigar shaped and fitted with propellers on one or both ends. Propbaits can be worked fast or slow, quiet or loud, but stop and go retrieves are best. The bass will let you know what is best so vary your retrieve. Be sure to experiment, propbaits are dynamite around sunken logs, lily pads, and shallow cover. Be sure the blades on the lure run freely, Wobblers and Crawlers, these baits are particularly best at night or early morning, Examples of these are the Jitterbug or the Crazy Crawler. They make a loud plopping sound when retrieved steadily. Use a steady slow retrieve for the best results with this bass bait. Buzzbaits are a little like spinnerbaits desingned to be fished on the surface. There are two types, the opposite wire types, with the blade above the hook, and the inline type with everything on one shaft. Excellent for clear water, and pick up less weeds. Again experiment with your working of this bait, twitching and vary speeds to create different noises. Weedless Spoons are also in this category, designed to be fished in dense cover, either through the thickest weeds, lily pads, or grass. They go through the toughest cover you can find. Fishing with weedless spoons for bass you will want to be using heavy fishing tackle, rods and reels. I like to point my rod tip at the lure on my retrieve, and again here be patient and allow the bass to take the lure. Now just remember, get out there enjoy nature, fresh air and let’s go fishing. When using these tips you will improve your results and of course have more fun. Jack Phillips has been fishing Canada coast to coast for over 50 years. Learn How to Market Your eBusiness in Real Time: Dissect, Study, Emulate

April 22nd, 2008 by dulciarains

By Isaiah Hull Everything you will ever need to know about internet marketing is plainly available to you everywhere yougo on the internet. All you need to do is dissect, study, and emulate these methods and you invariably will becomejust as successful as the people who created them. How do I know this? Because I use this exact pratice to make money with my own online businesses and newsletters.Whenever I have a problem, I look to other successfulinternet marketers and see how they have overcome thesesame obstacles I am facing. Some people will tell you must buy a certain ebook orinternet marketing course to become successful. Thisis not true. Informational products do have theirmerits, but it is important to understand that a lot ofthem become out-dated immediately after publication. The online marketplace changes very rapidly and the best, most successful internet marketers change with it.A good traffic-building tactic one day may be ineffectivethe next. If you hinge your entire business plan around this single idea you read in an ebook, and that idea endsup being outdated, then you will fail. I am not trying to say that informational products are notuseful. But I am saying you need to find a real time way ofanalyzing and implementing the information you do have. Youcannot purchase internet business success, but you alsocannot have it for free. You must work for it. If you blindly purchase information and then try to implement it, you will not succeed. Take list-based marketing for instance. Sendingemail to opt-in subscribers used to be one of the mosteffective, inexpensive ways to make quick sales. But in thewake of recent anti-spam legislation, this same methodhas become drastically less profitable. Yahoo, Hotmail, AOLand other email client services have clamped down on business emails in general, blacklisting all email fromsome autoresponders and filtering out up to 70% oflegitimate business emails in some cases. Of course, you wouldn’t know any of this from reading 99% of the marketing information available on the internet. Why? Because these books became outdated the secondcongress passed the CAN-SPAM ACT. These books will stilltell you that simply filling an autoresponder with messagesand buying leads will make you a fortune. This is nolonger true. You can still make just as much money from list marketingnow as you could before, but you just need to solve somemarketing problems first. You cannot continue to use outdated information that could not possibly take intoconsideration the current marketing world. So how do you deal with these problems? The same way youneed to deal with all eBusiness marketing problems. Youoperate in REAL TIME. You dissect, study, and emulate what successful webmasters, listowners, andnetrepreneurs are doing to make money right now. There are a number of different ways you can do this–but they all involve the same three steps: dissect, study, and emulate. In the remainder of this article, I willexplain website reverse engineering, which is one ofthe real time methods I use to improve my marketingefforts. You can start by taking a closer look at the websites youvisit most often. Rather than looking at them as a customeror as a member, think about the process thatwent into making them. You did not find that website byaccident. You are not looking at certain products forno reason. If the webmaster of this site is a professional, then it was engineered to drive you there and then to lookat specific things. Undo this process to learn from it: Dissect. Study. Emulate. Look at the layout of the pages. Check the site map. Look at how things are arranaged. Are there popups? Is there a newsletter? Do they have a lot of outgoing links to websites they do not own? Is this website actuallymini-site of another bigger site? Figure out why this webmaster has things setup in the wayyou see them. How does the webmaster really make the majority of herrevenue? Does this webmaster get a lot traffic? If so,where does it come from (hint: google and alexa havefunctions that allow you to back-track links and traffic).Does this webmaster use certain techniques to lure youin–and then close a sale? Does the mainpage containprimarly free or purchasable items? How is this webmaster’s sales copy constructed? Wouldthis webmaster prefer you to purchase a product orsign up for a list? Dissect. Study. Emulate. Answer all of these questions. You can do it for free andyou will only get better the more you do it. Now take some of the methods you understand best and aretechnically capable of implementing and then emulate themon your own website, personalizing them to fit in withyour own scheme, of course. If you do this regularly–if you use REAL TIME as yourstandard of evaluation–you cannot fail. I have personallyused this method dozens of times to fix my website, and just recently I adjust my new internet income course, which now not only gets to all of my subscribers, but alsoteaches them how to accomplish the same thing with real time marketing. — You may use this article for reprint, as long as it remains unaltered and the resource box and author information are included. - Isaiah Hull Isaiah Hull is the CEO of an internet business, a publisherof two business newsletters, PTL of several affiliate programs, and a business trainer for his affiliates. On 11/10/04, he released a brand-new free internet income course to address the major changes in internet marketing: http://www.workathomerightnow.net Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Isaiah_Hull http://EzineArticles.com/?Learn-How-to-Market-Your-eBusiness-in-Real-Time:-Dissect,-Study,-Emulate&id=6337 credit report agencys customer credit reports credit cards for someone with bad credit obtain my credit report

Mortgage Marketing - How to Write a Mortgage Marketing Sales Letter That Gets Results!

April 20th, 2008 by dulciarains

By David Wells Have you ever sat down to write a sales letter and been at a complete loss where to start? It happens to all of us. Sales letters are hard to write. And writing a good one takes a lot of time, research and effort. Buta good letter will make you money. The best place to start is with research. You want to know everything you can about the product or products youre selling. At this point youre interested in specific information. The details are vital. You want to understand and be able to clearly and thoroughly describe every aspect of the program youre writing for. Print your notes on a few sheets of paper so you have them when youre ready to begin writing. Next you want to do some research on your target market. Again the specifics are important. Start by defining the characteristics of the typical prospect who would benefit most from your product. Be as thorough as possible. What problem will your product solve for your client? Get inside their head. See the whole loan process from their point of view. Constantly ask why would they want to do this? Make another few pages of notes. Your first set of notes are features. Theyre what your product does. The second set of notes are benefits. Theyre the reason the prospect will decide to buy or not. Now youre ready to write. Start with the headline. The best place to look for the theme of your headline is in your benefits notes. What is the most compelling reason to buy your product? State it in writing as clearly as you can. You have a headline. Now, heres the important part, write another 50 headlines about the same benefit. Set that aside and start writing your letter with your lead. Your lead should build on and restate the theme of your headline. Focus on the benefit to the prospect. Next, you want to back up your strong statement of benefit with details about why your product will lead to such a benefit. State the features that support the statement of benefit. For the rest of your letter you want to weave the benefits together with supporting features. Restate your core benefit often and in a variety of ways. After every statement of benefit tell your prospect why you can deliver on your promise. You have your rough draft. Now you need to select the best three headlines you have and start asking people in your office which one is better. Use the one that wins. Now its time to re-write your letter. You should do this several times. Make your letter sound like your talking to a favorite uncle and explaining why your product will be so good for him. Respect your client. Dont ever talk down to them. Answer every question they might have. Dont be afraid to go long long copy sells better. Happy Writing. Sacred Love - Building a Relationship on Truth and Trust, Beyond Emotion and Blame

April 19th, 2008 by dulciarains

By Christopher Walker Emotion is energy in motion. It swings between right and wrong, attracted and repelled and it is, at the base of the cone, as far away from love as you can emotionally reach. This emotional consciousness is Ive got to do this and I have to do that, really violent and polarized positions. Most of this comes from taking the moral high ground. We are basically saying, I blame your actions for how I feel. People avoid the confrontation that love brings using blame. This moral high ground, high above the rocky swamps of real life communication, is designed to avoid love. To stay dry, while all else is wet, to keep the ego fully intact, avoid dealing with the issues that created it, and blame (judge) others for causing how a person feels. You did this and caused me to feel upset. This is a righteous heart. This person will be so hard on them self, they will probably have to be single. The more willing you are to say, I dont know, or maybe, the less righteous you are, the less emotional your swings of emotion. As your emotional swings get smaller and smaller, less energy is spent on being right, and more energy is spent on growing and staying in love. People who use blame throw hand grenades and send barbs at the enemy in order to stay hidden. The more the enemy reacts to their blame, the bigger their sand banks get, and that sand bank is called righteousness. Those right people build big bunkers and only invite friends who agree with them in to the bunker. If you are the lover, you are the enemy. Then they go find a seminar or a book and say I enjoyed that book or seminar only if it agrees with their position on life. And if it doesnt agree with them they say that teacher was too intellectual or I dont like that way of thinking really, all they are doing is building bunkers and putting up more sand bags. The sad thing is what they are blocking, is love. Bunkered in, safe, they cant relax because love lets people in. The first principle in Natural Law, that there are two sides to everything, including you, your partner and your relationship, there is nothing to change, only something to love. The wisest thing you can do is to say, What I judge in you I judge in me. Hold your hand out in front of you, make a fist, and point only one finger at someone, then look and see how many fingers are pointing back at you. This is what self-righteousness causes. You are actually judging yourself, when you blame others. So, we use challenges to grow love. Every time we get challenged, emotionally negative, we process it, and turn it into love. That way, we stay in the honeymood. We cant just ignore the negative stuff because it builds up, causes abuse, and makes us resentful. We have to process the negative stuff so it doesnt block our love. It is like moving sand through the hourglass. In the top is the ego. In the bottom is love. We take the experiences at the top, everyday emotion, and move them to love. The more we process through the hourglass, the bigger our love can be. Emotion is therefore the language of the ego. Emotion is the most wonderful honesty about how you feel, think and see life. But if you think your emotions are anything but a witnessing of your own unconsciousness, you may have a big problem in life. Emotions block love. No relationship, sacred or otherwise, can thrive when a couple considers their emotions a foundation. Those emotions are so changeable. One day the sun is out and you feel good; then the full moon sends you into a tailspin. You cant base your relationship with someone you love on feelings and emotions. It is a disaster, like a leaf blowing in the wind. The wind (emotions) blow you left, you go left and shut down, they blow you right and you are infatuated and happy. It is like a little child in a candy shop. No love can last in that whirlwind of emotional drama. This is the choice you have. You can love people but not be prepared to enter a relationship with them. That is a friendship. You can love someone and enter a relationship with them and this means to face the challenges that a relationship brings in order to stay in love. But if you expect to be in a relationship with someone, and not face your ego, not confront your heros and be caught in your own judgments, then you are not really wanting love. You are wanting peace, and in relationship, like nature, peace brings disease. To be in relationship and hold love you need to stay vigilant to your ego. For example, our ego might want to see our partner as only a kind person. Our ego, if we empower it, says this is a good thing. Then we feel pleasure and this causes us to have a happy emotion, the ego is happy, because there is kind without cruel. But is this real, sustainable, true love or is it the ego creating the grounds for a disaster in our relationship? Imbalanced ideas is our emotional projection onto them. That is not a true awareness of them, not love, just our projection. In other words we become blind to the truth, because that is what we want, emotional infatuation is high pleasure and this we mistake for love. We can easily mistake love for an emotional upper, so we project onto them and say, I love you because I feel pleasured emotion, you are so kind, you are without cruel, so I will let you into my heart. You are like my hero, so you are called good and lovable. And you over there, you contradict my hero expectation, (remind me of someone I dont like in my past who was cruel, so I lock you out. This is where the conflict between emotions and love cause us most pain. Long term relationships cannot be based on this projection of fantasy, or delusions. In reality, all people have two sides. The more a person projects their goodness on you, the more they have mastered hiding their badness but it will, in the long term, surface. Some people learn how to hide their other side, and therefore get under your half life radar. That is the emotional definition of love. Your radar is looking for half a person, and so you get half, the good half, and long as your illusions are justified, you can love them. But this love is false, it is just not real. No man or woman is half. They present half because your projection wont let them in if they are real. If they were real with you, you would throw them out, because it would challenge your ideas, your expectation. You get what you want in the short term, the fantasy, but in the long term you get reality, and all your complaining, anger, blame and therapy wont fix the problem, there is, in fact no problem to fix, just your illusion of real people. To say, I love you because you are kind, that is the ego. Firstly, because kind has both good and bad in it, which you wont see until later. Secondly, because you are assuming that there can be a half person in your life, kind but not unkind. So, we have half information and have an emotional upper. That is not love; it is a happy thought called the honeymoon. Sadly it will not last unless you are prepared to do some process on your ego. This is all very obvious when I take people trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal. They bring their way of thinking from back home, and try to apply it to walking up the side of steep hills. Their emotions take charge and at the bottom of the hill, they are enthusiastic, infatuated, brimming with excitement. But the hill is so long, that excitement turns to disbelief and frustration (the honeymoon is over). So, about 1 hour into the climb, the ego, being dualistic, swings to the other side, and our emotions go downward, to balance the upward emotion of the first hour. People start to complain about the whole stupid hill, the boots hurt, legs ache. When the ego goes into emotional resentment it uses blame so that it doesnt feel stupid, and after 10 minutes blaming the bad path, the steep hill, neither of which really cares, they blame me. Gradually the swings of emotion get shorter, from 1 hour down to 1 minute. An internal war begins, Yes I can do it to — no I cant make it and finally, every step, Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no. The brain is going mad, swinging, and just when it is ready to surrender, something else comes over them. The ego gives up and the emotions fall away. That ego which drives us in city life is just no use here, and we get a sense of spirit, our second wind. Similarly, in a relationship we start by committing to climb this magnificent journey together. We jump in, full of tingles and bubbles, phone calls and emails, poems and flowers. Then we begin to close down. Emotions become more challenging than we thought, so we fight with our ego to change things, everything. Maybe after that, through all the emotional uppers and downers (often peaks at 7 years) we can get back to real love. Our second wind in relationships, and walk together up the hill. Thats a little disappointing, because we have the idea that there will be no challenge. For everything in life there is a cost. If we arent willing to grow in relationship, to remain a child, then we are going to end up running around having affairs or living a loveless life. The ego fights, but we need to say I love you and Even though this is not comfortable right now, I can grow through this challenge This is a sacred relationship. You dont run, you grow and take the bull by the horns. Even if they leave, you never stop loving them as a person. It doesnt have to take 7 years or 7 minutes. If you are ready to grow through emotions, you are ready to love. Chris Walker is a world leading change agent, an environmentalist and author of more than 20 books. Health Care Benefits for Veterans

April 16th, 2008 by dulciarains

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Grantz] John Grantz The U.S. government promises a lifetime of guaranteed healthcare for veterans, in recognition of their service to our nation in the armed forces. What do the promises mean? This site provides an overview of the benefits, the barriers to obtaining benefits, and how to determine whether VA health care is for you. Health Care Benefits Offered to Veterans Veterans Administration facilities offer a wide range of services to millions of patients. Outpatient Care at VA Facilities: Primary care visits for a $15 copyayment and preventative care services with no copayment required for health fairs, outpatient visit for preventive screening and/or immunizations, laboratory services, flat film radiology services, and electrocardiograms. Medication for approved: Most veterans are currently charged $7 for a 30-day or less supply of medication. Barriers to Using Veterans Health Care Benefits While millions are served, these represent a mere fraction of eligible veterans. Why do many seek other avenues for health care? Congress talks about supporting Veterans yet prefers to fund pork. In 2005, Congress demonstrated its disdain for Veterans by refusing to fund promised benefits, and at the same time approving $220 million in funding for Alaskan “bridges to nowhere.”Services primarily are delivered at a limited number of VA facilities that are not accessible by many. Congress has been asked to allow Veterans access to public and private hospitals, yet it declines to do so.Quality of Care is a Question Mark. Perceived quality varies by location. While the Federal Department of Health and Human Services lists the performance of many hospitals on a location by location basis, the VA results are not provided for each location. Many Veterans do find their VA health care services satisfactory.Eligibility is limited. If you are a veteran and have service connected disabilities, are catastrophically disabled, or destitute, you may be eligible to access benefits. Congress has restricted access that was promised to all. In this regard, while World War I veterans were afforded full eligibility, our Congress has segregated defenders of the Constitution eight separate classes. Eligibility in some cases can now depend not on whether the veteran served honorably in conflict, but on whether paperwork was filled out prior to January 17, 2003.Prescription drugs offered are often second rate. The VA listing of approved drugs excludes many modern prescriptions. Patients often prefer to use drugs that are recognized as superior, and so do not accept the VA drug formulary. How Can I Get My Veterans Health Care Benefits? If you satisfy the current narrow qualifications, e.g., you are destitute, severely disabled, or have won the Medal of Honor (there has been only one such recipient from the Iraq conflict, and he gave his life in the action), you can fill out a form. Most veterans must complete VA Form 10-10EZ, Application for Health Benefits. link https://www.1010ez.med.va.gov/sec/vha/1010ez/. If you do not satisfy the narrow conditions, you are one of millions. Do Any Congress Members Support Strong Veterans Benefits? Many Congress members support our troops. Veterans could benefit from establishing lobbying as the sugar cane growers do. Interested parties can contact their Congressmen and ask them to support our troops by funding fully the promise of health care. After the Pain

April 14th, 2008 by dulciarains

By Sonya Triggs Psalm 30:5 (NIV) For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Why does God send us through so many trials and tribulations? Weve all heard the stories, the experiences of others, and weve been through a few weepy nights ourselves. And we all know that these experiences (theoretically at least) are supposed to make us stronger. We are the head and not the tail, we remind ourselves in the midst of our pain. He will never give us more than we can bear, our friends say to comfort us when we are down. No weapon formed against us shall prosper, we whisper hopefully when our marriages, our jobs, or our families seem on the verge of falling apart. And this is all supposed to make us stronger? Ive wondered about this and Im sure you have to. Once, in my anger towards God (after a particularly lengthy trial), I told God exactly why I was upset with Him: He could make this trial go away any time He chose. So, I reasoned with Him, if I was suffering, I was suffering because of Him. And what kind of God was that, I questioned Him? What kind of loving, kind, responsive God would watch me go through this pain and not lift a finger to help me? Yeah, I was the head and not the tail alright the head of a big, fat mess! Not the right attitude, of course, but an honest response. And, even if you have not felt this type of anger towards God, havent you often wondered why He sends us through what He sends us through? Do you ever stop to think (as I have, many times), that there has to be an easier way to gain maturity, gain strength, learn patience and learn to be long-suffering? He is God, after all cant He just magically give us those qualities instead of having us sweat it out for days, months, or in the most painful cases, years? So there has to be a reason. Why do we go through all our trials and tribulations? For exactly the reasons that we have been led to believe because God is trying to mature us (James 1: 2-4). Because God wants to rid of us all those qualities that are not like Him (Psalm 66:10). And because He uses our suffering to help us develop Godly characteristics (Romans 5:3-5). The simple truth of the matter is that most of us would not be the loving, kind, patient people we are today had it not been for something we had gone through. We would probably not appreciate God, our families, our friends or the simple joys of life had we not surmounted some obstacle, overcome some temptation or went through the horrors of our own personal trial by fire. Admit it youre a better person today because of a liberal helping of hurt, humiliation, difficult circumstances and stress. And, if youre not, then consider yourself still in the training process. There is, however, a benefit to journeying through the bad times. Something that is only hinted at in the Bible when James exhorts us to rejoice in tribulation and Paul talks about the hope that is produced through suffering. There is a sweet recompense for all that we have gone through, all the sleepless, lonely, weeping nights weve experienced and a joy that lessens the pain of lost loved ones, battered friendships or bruised egos. I call it After the Pain After the Pain is what David talks about in Psalms 30. He reminds us that we may weep for a night, but, hold on, because Joy comes in the morning! Does that mean we only have to endure for one night and then, when the morning comes, things will all be worked out? Only if you are very lucky. That dark night can last days, months or even years. The woman who had the issue of blood experienced 11 lonely years of night. Blind Bartimeus had been blind since birth a entire lifetime of night. God promised Abraham a son at 86 years old and his night didnt end until 13 years later! How long will your night last? As long as it takes. But, hold on, because Joy comes in the morning! After the Pain is the sweet rejoicing, the sublime happiness, the wild anticipation you feel when (finally!) this trial has come to an end! You cry tears of joy. You tell all your friends about your breakthrough. You recount the goodness of God. The pain is forgotten. The bad memories are put away. And a new season in your life begins. Even more important than the outward rejoicing, however, is the inner peace that After the Pain brings. Habits you thought would rule you for a lifetime are all of a sudden small cause for concern. Worries that kept you up at night are just vague shadows in your mind. Inner peace, and its companion contentment now rule your life. This is your time. This is your season. Enjoy it. And rejoice. Until the next trial begins. Thats why I believe the writers of the Bible always reminded us to rejoice, to think positively and to turn our cares over to God in the midst of trials and tribulations. Because they knew (and you are learning) that there is a sweet blessedness, peace and relief that will be yours once this pain has passed. And you will be even better prepared more patient, more loving, more patient to face the next trial that will come you way. So spend as little time as possible muddling in your pain. Keep your thoughts as positive as you are able. Rejoice now and, if you cant do that, at least say thank you to the One who will bring you through. Weeping may endure for a night, but After the Pain Joy will come. Be blessed! Sonya C. Triggs is the CEO and Founder of Urban Christianz Ministries.
